Mastery Levels
You’ll now receive an “Increased Mastery Level“ notice whenever you pass specific card and review thresholds:
Each increase in mastery level improves your leaderboard rank identifier and score average. Because Pine averages your card scores to determine your place on the leaderboard, this new system rightly rewards those who maintain large libraries of cards in their Pine workspace. An upcoming essay will go into much more depth on how leaderboard scores are balanced to feel fair but not punishing.
To encourage new users to reach their first mastery level, we’ve also added an onboarding checklist in the bottom left corner of the application. Creating at least five cards in your workspace extends your trial period by one week.
